• Das zentrale Ziel der Forschungsstelle war, Data Science als Schlüsseltechnologie an der Universität Osnabrück strukturell zu verankern. Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit lag hierbei auf der Entwicklung und dem Einsatz von informatisch-, kognitions-, und mathematisch/statistisch-orientierten Methoden, um zentrale Fragen von Data Science und eng damit verbundenen Gebieten zu beantworten. Die Forschungsstelle Data Science wurde zum 1. Juli 2025 zu einem Forschungszentrum an der Universität Osnabrück.
• The Research Center "Data Science" has the central goal of structurally anchoring data science as a key technology at Osnabrück University, identifying new potential in the field of data science and implementing appropriate measures. It promotes, coordinates and undertakes research and transfer activities in the field of data science in a national and international framework across schools and disciplines, focusing on the development and use of methods oriented towards computer science, cognition and mathematics/statistics in order to answer central questions of data science and closely related fields.
