Osnabrück University's International Summer School "Intercultural Competencies" offers an in-depth view into the field of cross-cultural psychology. The objectives of this program are threefold. First, students gain profound insights into current scientific debates and important topics in the context of intercultural competencies. They exchange ideas with leading scholars of the field and their program fellows and sharpen their critical thinking. Second, in the training session, students develop intercultural empathy while getting to know different techniques and methods used in the intercultural training sector. This interactive format conveys a basic understanding of how culture influences the perception of time, space, and groups. Third, by developing a training session for a specific target group themselves, students strengthen their didactical knowledge and gain practical insights into the difficulties and opportunities an intercultural setting bears.
